Okay...this is something that I have been pondering for quite some time. I really enjoy reading Joe Posnanski's blog (joeposnanski.com/JoeBlog) and a few others as well, and if Barney "The Barnacle" Stinson has one, I know it has to be cool...and I want it. So this probably won't be a daily thing...but if you guys know me, I am a seriously random person...I jump from topic to topic and rarely sensor myself, so this could be good for some insight on certain topics (Which will mainly range from Royals/Chiefs/Lakers/Mizzou to video games to hot tracks to beers) but I will always try to give out a song of the week, beer of the week, and word/Loomism of the week. With that being said, let's get derrty with it. But before I get my type on, realize that I am not a card-holding member of the Grammar Natzis, but my ramblings should be coherent enough for you to get some idea of what I am talking about...probably just a little bit more than a Nance email...hahaha
Loomism of the week:
Let me hit you with some knowlegde...I love making up stupid stuff or repeating ridiculous things that I hear along the way....yesterday I was working out and it came to me....from now on Ii am going to implement the word spicy in a new meaning....you know when you see a girl walk by and you're like hmmm..she's hot, but then you are still thinking about how saucy she was a few minutes later? That's spicy. When my main man Wesley Johnson drops a straight butter move on some fool and drops a jumper like it's hot? Spicy. I'm still thinkin about him droppin it on Zaga last Sunday. Spicy. How spicy is Syracuse right now? Yes, spicy is a lingering feeling of heat, like you were rockin some bomb-diggity wing sauce or poppin Super Hot Tamales like it was your job. Spicy. Yeah, I like that.
Track of the week:
"All I Do Is Win" by DJ Khaled feat. T-Pain, Luda, Snoop Dizzle, & Rick Ross
Seriously. Download this joint. It is seriously Spicy. I can't wait to go back to KA and blare this while I play Beer Pong with Hoef-diesel. This is definitely going on the Loom All-Time Beer Pong get smoked Album....maybe Ii will unveil this sometime....hmmm
Beer of the week:
Okay, this is a tough one. Like molasses tough, 1985 Chicago Bears tough, Nigerian Nightmare Christian Okoye tough. I'd really like to push, but as Tony Kornheiser drops on PTI, pushing is for the weak, case in point...Wilbon! I'd like to thank ESPN for putting my main man Kornheiser back on the air. He makes the show and is really with it. Okay, procrastination over. I am going to go with Boulevard's Boss Tom's Golden Bock. It is seriously exceptional. I know I am a bit biased to Boulevard's product...but...wow. I remember drinking these with KY last year while Ii was laid off in KC, they only had it at select bars in kegs for like six weeks. Due to its popularity, they decided to bottle it this year. Good choice. The only other Mai Bock that can touch this is Gordon Biersch's. Pretty fantastic. But wow, what a choice for beer of the week. I'm glad I have DVR, because I am totally having one-two of these during Survivor....how awesome of a comeback is it for that show? I know I've said this a million times...but Ii would watch just about anything in HD...now that it is in High Def and they brought back my two favorite Survivor's of All-Time, Boston Rob and Colby, I was hooked from the get-go. Heroes versus Villains....who wouldn't like to see that on every reality show, much less every sport or in a mega-movie...how would the Joker get along with the guy with a screw loose from Die Hard? Man, I could go on and on about these...but seriously, can Jeff Probst be thrown into one season and actually participate and they have the winner of Heroes v. Villains host the show? Just for a season...it would make me instantly halt the "Probst is a goofball....etc jokes...at least for a minute," you host the show....you should be able to handle it...just my opinion...but it's true.....here's a shot of my first Boss Tom's....enjoy that
Video Game of the week:
This is perplexing. As anyone who knows me knows, Ii have to be the first to have things and I get hooked on them easily. Sonic & Sega AllStar Racing came out a week before MLB 2K10, so that should have given me ample time to beat it and get sick of it prior to getting overly addicted to having the KC Royals win a pennant. Wrong. Sonic Racing is an addictive little prick and the online is so smooth. I love Sega. I miss them being in the console war, because, seriously, SEGA is spicy. Go ahead. Name the top three consoles of all time. Obviously, #1 is NES....duh....but then #2 has to be a Sega dreamcast...who doesn't remember playing Crazy Taxi for the first time, or coming into my room and seeing me raise my Leonard Nemoi Seaman and teach him to do and say cool stuff? Or Spaceman and I turning up the Sub and the Speaks from 4-5PM and playing NBA 2K1 and shaking the house everytime the ball would bounce. Yes, spicy. Then number three has to be an XBOX. This one, however, is debateable. Which will be discussed in future Loomism blogs. I have one planned out that is gonna be sick, like lava hot, and you guessed it...spicy. Everyone knows that I love brackets. I love making them. Ii love predicting them. I love filling them out. If someone is inviting me over for a gathering...I normally bring posterboard so we can record the awesome that is about to go down....then flip it over when we are done and make merit/demerit sheets for the youngest ones there. Who couldn't forget the classic Carter v. Loaf of 2009? Epic. Breaking up a sausage-fest was the downfall of one of these competitors. But classic to say the least. I'm sure ESPN the Ocho will pick it up in the years to come. Man, this is fun stuff. Back to the bracket thing though....I will be having "April Awareness" which will only sort of rival "March Madness." I will be setting up a bracket of 65 of the best games of all time and go through them slowly to crown a final four and a best of all time. It's gonna be Legen....wait for it.....Dairy! I will obviously have automatic bids for each of the systems and the power conferences will be NES, Dreamcast, XBOX, Wii, and X360. Obviously there will be some dark horses from the SNES, N64, and Genesis out there. I'm so amped I want to do it right now (That's what she said), but in the spirit of April Awareness, I will wait. Selection show should air on either G4 or ESPN 8...they are fighting for the rights....as...we....speak.....no, as....you....read....this....hahaha
Obviously no one will probably read this, but if you did, I hope you enjoyed it. My "I" key tends to stick and I tried to get all the dub I's out, but if I didn't, Ii hope it didn't agitate you too terribly bad. More to come!
